1. Introductory provisions

These terms govern the rights and obligations between the seller and the participant when registering for Technocrane Academy classes and paying for them through this website.

  • Seller: Technocrane s.r.o.
  • Registered office: Podnikatelská 1131/19, Skvrňany, 301 00 Plzeň, Czech Republic
  • Company ID: 26353458
  • VAT ID: CZ26353458
  • Registration: File No. C 14852 kept by the Regional Court in Plzeň
  • E-mail for these terms, complaints and contractual matters: admin@supertechno.com

Academy contact for anything about the course itself: Josh Bumgarner, Lead Instructor, josh@supertechno.com

A participant is any person who registers for a class through the registration form. Where the participant is a consumer, matters not covered by these terms are governed by Act No. 89/2012 Coll., the Civil Code, and Act No. 634/1992 Coll., on Consumer Protection.

2. The course

Technocrane Academy is hands-on training in the setup, operation, transport and maintenance of Technocrane telescopic camera cranes, Supertechno cranes and TechnoDolly systems. Instruction is delivered in English by Technocrane personnel and factory technicians. Each instruction day covers one system and is limited to twelve participants.

Each day runs to the same schedule: coffee and an introduction to the equipment from 8:00 am, instruction begins at 9:00 am, wrap begins at 5:00 pm and the day ends at 6:00 pm. The wrap is part of the instruction, not the end of it — loading, unloading and strapping the cranes is taught, not done for the class.

Classes run as scheduled regardless of how many participants attend. There is no minimum headcount for a class to take place.

3. Registration and conclusion of the contract

Registration is made per day and per crane system. A participant may book one day, two days, or all three. Each day is sold separately and holds a maximum of twelve places, so a place on one day does not reserve a place on the next.

Registration is complete, and the contract concluded, when the fee is received in full and Technocrane sends written confirmation to the email given at registration. A place is not held by an incomplete registration.

A registered participant may substitute another named person in their place at no charge, by written notice to admin@supertechno.com at least 7 days before the day in question.

4. Price and payment

  • Day 1 — Supertechno — USD 600
  • Day 2 — Technocrane — USD 600
  • Day 3 — TechnoDolly — USD 600
  • All three days — USD 1,650

Prices are per participant, in US dollars, and include any applicable tax. The fee covers a full day of instruction, the morning coffee truck and lunch. It does not cover travel, lodging, ground transport, insurance, or any personal equipment.

Payment is taken after the registration form is submitted, through the payment gateway operated by Stripe Payments Europe, Limited (Ireland). Card details never reach this website and are not held by Technocrane.

Technocrane s.r.o. is the party charging and invoicing, and settles in Czech koruna or euro. Where a participant pays in another currency, the amount appearing on their statement may differ from the quoted figure because of their own bank’s exchange rate and any foreign transaction fee. Those differences are outside Technocrane’s control and are not grounds for a refund.

A completed invoice is sent to the participant within two working days of payment.

5. Cancellation, transfer and refunds

Refunds are handled per day booked. A participant who has booked more than one day may cancel individual days on the same terms.

More than 14 days before the day booked: full refund, less any payment processing fee.

Within 14 days of the day booked: the participant may move to a different day on the published 2026 schedule, subject to space being available on that day, at no charge. If the participant cannot move to another day, the booking is non-refundable — except that if Technocrane fills the place, the participant is refunded in full.

No-show, or leaving a day before it ends: no refund for that day.

Where the all-three-days rate has been paid and one or two days are cancelled, the days actually attended are recharged at the single-day rate and the balance treated under the terms above.

If Technocrane cancels a class, the amount paid is refunded within 14 days of the planned date. The participant may instead take the equivalent day at another session on the published schedule. Technocrane’s responsibility in that event is limited to the refund of fees paid, and does not extend to travel, lodging or other costs the participant has committed to.

6. Certificate

A certificate is sent to the participant’s email within 14 days of attending. A certificate of attendance of Technocrane Academy with the city, records the days attended and the systems covered, and is signed by Josh Bumgarner, Lead Instructor, Technocrane s.r.o.

The certificate carries no endorsement of skill. It is not a certification, license, qualification or union credential, it does not assess or attest to competence, and it does not qualify any participant for employment.

7. Who may attend

Participants must be 18 years of age or older on the day they attend. Technocrane may ask for proof of age and may refuse admission without refund where a participant cannot establish it.

8. Physical participation

This is a hands-on Academy and participation is physical. Participants will handle, lift, roll, load, unload and strap camera cranes and their components, some of which are heavy and awkward, and will work in close proximity to moving equipment and to weight at height.

By registering, the participant confirms that they are physically able to take part in that activity, and undertakes to inform Technocrane in writing before the day of anything — injury, condition, or limitation — that affects their ability to do so safely. Technocrane may adapt what a participant is asked to do, or ask them to observe rather than take part, where safety requires it.

Footwear is a condition of entry to the floor. Closed-toe, closed-heel shoes or boots. No high heels, no flip-flops, no open sandals. Anyone arriving without suitable footwear will not be allowed onto the floor and no refund is due.

Participants must not take part while impaired by alcohol, cannabis or any substance that affects judgment, balance or reaction time, including prescribed medication with those effects. Technocrane may remove any participant from a class, without refund, for impairment, for refusing instruction, or for conduct that endangers themselves or others.

Classes are held at third-party studios and stages. Participants must follow the house rules of the venue, the instructions of Technocrane instructors and venue staff, and all posted safety requirements.

9. Assumption of risk and release of liability

By completing the purchase, the participant accepts this section.

Working with camera cranes involves risks that cannot be eliminated by care or supervision, including but not limited to: crush and pinch injuries; strains and back injuries from lifting; falling or dropped equipment and counterweights; contact with moving arms, dollies and track; electrical hazards; slips, trips and falls; injury caused by the acts or omissions of other participants; and damage to personal property.

The participant knowingly and voluntarily accepts those risks and elects to take part.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the participant releases Technocrane s.r.o., its affiliates, officers, employees, instructors and agents, and the owners and operators of the venue, from any claim for personal injury, death, illness, or loss of or damage to property arising out of participation in the Academy, including claims arising from ordinary negligence.

This release does not apply to gross negligence, to willful misconduct, or to any liability that applicable law does not permit to be released. Nothing in this section limits a consumer’s statutory rights.

The participant indemnifies Technocrane against loss arising from their own willful or reckless acts, and against damage to the venue caused by their failure to follow instruction.

10. Insurance

Technocrane does not provide medical, accident, travel or workers’ compensation coverage for participants. Participants are not employees, contractors or volunteers of Technocrane. Each participant is responsible for their own health and accident insurance, and, if attending on behalf of an employer, for confirming that their employer’s coverage extends to their attendance. A participant attending as an employee of a company may be asked to provide a certificate of insurance where the venue requires one.

11. Equipment

All equipment remains the property of Technocrane or its rental partners. Participants operate it only under instruction and only as directed. The participant is responsible for damage they cause by disregarding instruction or by unauthorized operation.

12. Photography, video and marketing

By completing the purchase, the participant grants the release in this section.

Technocrane records photography and video at Academy classes. The participant grants Technocrane a perpetual, royalty-free right to use their image, likeness, voice and name in Technocrane marketing, social media, website content, trade show material and press, worldwide, without further approval or compensation.

A participant who does not wish to be included must say so in writing to admin@supertechno.com before the day begins. Technocrane will accommodate that and it has no effect on their place in the class.

Participants may photograph and film for their own personal and professional use. Participants may not record or reproduce course materials, technical documentation or instruction content for resale, redistribution, or for use in training delivered by anyone other than Technocrane.

13. Course materials and intellectual property

Course materials, manuals, drawings, software and documentation provided during the Academy remain the intellectual property of Technocrane s.r.o. and are provided for the participant’s own use.

TECHNOCRANE®, SUPERTECHNO and TECHNODOLLY are trademarks of Technocrane s.r.o.

Attending the Academy grants no right to use those marks, and no right to represent oneself as a Technocrane certified or approved trainer, dealer, technician or service agent.

14. Complaints and defective performance

Complaints are made in writing to admin@supertechno.com. Technocrane acknowledges a complaint on receipt and resolves it within 30 days. Where a complaint is upheld, the remedy is a repeat of the day at another session on the published schedule, or a refund of the fee for the day complained of, at the participant’s choice.

15. Consumer withdrawal and out-of-court settlement

A consumer generally has the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason (Section 1829 of the Civil Code).

A consumer has the right to out-of-court settlement of a consumer dispute arising from the contract. The competent body is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority, Štěpánská 796/44, 110 00 Prague 1, adr.coi.cz. A proposal may be filed no later than one year from the day the consumer first raised the matter with the seller.

16. Personal data

Technocrane collects the participant’s name, contact details and payment confirmation in order to administer enrollment, communicate about the class, issue certificates and meet its accounting obligations. Payment card details are processed by Stripe and are not held by Technocrane.

Data is handled in accordance with the Technocrane privacy policy and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Participants may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their data by writing to admin@supertechno.com.

Technocrane does not add participants to its marketing mailing list unless they choose to join it. The registration page carries a separate, optional box for that; leaving it unchecked has no effect on enrollment. Anyone who joins may unsubscribe at any time.

17. Changes and force majeure

Technocrane may change the running order, instructor, equipment on the floor, or venue of a class where circumstances require it, and will notify registered participants as soon as a material change is known. A change of city or of dates gives the participant the remedy in Section 5.

Neither party is liable for failure to perform caused by events beyond reasonable control, including venue loss, equipment loss in transit, customs delay, strike or industrial action, severe weather, travel restriction, public health order, or act of government. Section 5 governs the participant’s remedy in those circumstances.

18. Final provisions

The language of the contract is English.

These terms and the contract are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, the seller’s place of establishment.

Technocrane may amend these terms. A new version takes effect on publication on this website and applies to registrations made after that date; a registration already confirmed is governed by the version accepted at the time. Each version is retained and a copy of the version accepted is sent to the participant with their confirmation.

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.

19. Electronic acceptance

By checking the acceptance box on the registration page and completing payment, the participant agrees to these Terms and Conditions — including the assumption of risk and release of liability in Section 9, the physical participation and footwear conditions in Section 8, and the photography release in Section 12 — and confirms that they intend their electronic acceptance to have the same effect as a handwritten signature.

Technocrane retains a record of the acceptance, including the date, time and version accepted, and emails a copy to the participant.
